DESCRIPTION :

Round Zucchini Summer Squash is typically ready for harvest in 45-55 days from planting. You can harvest the squash when they are about the size of a baseball, usually 3-4 inches in diameter, for the best tenderness and flavor. Use a sharp knife or pruning shears to cut the fruits from the vine.

Zucchini can grow up to a meter (100cm) in length, but they are harvested at a much shorter length (15-25cms). Most varieties bear dark green cylindrical fruit, but some produce round or intermediate shapes in colors ranging from yellow-green to nearly black. 

Choose a location that has warm, well-drained and fertile soil. Work in plenty of organic matter and mulch to conserve moisture.Sow directly into the garden after any threat of frost has past. Sow one inch deep in hills or rows spaced 24 to 30 inches apart.

Harvest when the fruit is six to eight inches long or still tender. Harvest will be lengthened if you keep picking.
